I live in North Dakota about 200 miles from Phil's hometown and he kind of reminds me of a lot of us around here. Not much gets us worked up or excited, and a lot of people don't get it. We just get the job done with little to no flash. But I agree, his "Wired" segments are almost painful - good thing he's got 9 (soon to be 10) rings to fall back on!

If I was taller (I'm 5'6") and had a kid with a chance to be 6'10" - 7', I'd be out working on the Sky Hook with him right now. I've always wondered why nobody uses "the most unstoppable shot" in basketball anymore. I've seen a couple of interviews with Bynum this year saying that he uses it in practice, but isn't confident enough to use it in a game, yet. Go Lakers!!!

Agreed mate. I know Phil enjoys his 'Zen moments' but I'd love to see him get more fired up.

Matt D, I keep saying to myself, these huddles are so uninspiring, with little detail, I don't get it. I like how Doc & especially Pop coach, but Phil must do all his work in practice. I know he is a master of moving lineups and chemistry, that's about all I notice, but Phil "Wired" is dull.

Great recovery Skeets... going for the second "Whoa Boy" and switching to "Fun Times".

This is a make or miss league. Have you listened to Phil Jackson during the time outs... he either says "Make some shots", or "Make some stops". No wonder he has 9 rings.

The only people that thought this was gonna be a sweep are the those rooting against the Lakers instead of rooting for the Magic. As a Laker fan I can say I slept really well last night. It was actually what I called "The Best L Of 2008/09." The Lakers played hard and didn't take the night off as expected by many, especially those that would never dare to lay praise on the doorstep of the Lakers. The Lakers lost by 4pts in a game that statistically should have been a blowout. The bottom line is it appears the Magic have to play record breaking basketball or hope the Lakers take the night off to win this series.

Many probably would like to think Lakers fans should be worried about this series and I would have to say we should but not because the Lakers may lose but worried about all the fans of eastern conference teams that are gonna have to deal with the Magic next season for all the same reasons they think the Lakers should be worried about right now.

The best team always wins and that will be determined when it's all over. For today the Lakers are leading the series 2-1 and that will change Thursday night one way or the other.

I'm happy the Lakers competed. If this was an ugly loss like Game 4 or 6 vs Houston or Game 4 vs Denver, I'd be pissed. The guys put an effort at least, this is the Finals, you won't sweep someone.

It's a miracle we lost by 4 with them shooting 62%.

I've never heard of a rule in 21 where you have to finish with a skyhook... must be a Canadian thing.

Caeser it's not good to hide your distain for the Lakers and be passive aggressive, just come out with it. You can learn from Nick L, "The Lakers suck, and Paul Pierce is the second best player of all time next to Larry Bird," sincerely Nick L. I'd respect that a lot more.

I thought the Lakers originally would win in 4-6 games, I still believe that confidently. Kobe looks exausted, those 2nd and 3rd round games beat him up. I'd think he needs to to "try less early" and be more of a decoy and save himself for his late game closing ability. And most importantly, the Jones touched on it today, I'd think feed Pau and when they are done feeding him, feed him somemore. I think Pau will have a shot at 1st team all NBA next year. I am so pumped to have him on the team I root for I am becoming more
geeked about his game daily as I witness it.

"Witness?" "Did someone say witness?, I'm the greatest! Is this the forum to present questions to Skeets and Tas? Considering Jordan quit basketball at age 30 due to basketball fatigue, gambling, and other issues, do you think Kobe should take a year off after the season to rejuvenate his body and mind? Kobe looks real tired in the playoffs, and Jordan played phenomenal basketball after a two-year hiatus.

It's strange how things ended up, because I feel like the best part of that game was watching Kobe's first half. Just amazing to watch. When he's in the zone like that, it's terrifying. Strange to think you an have a stretch like that and then have people making you the goat of the night.

Hearing you guys describe this last game made it sound like last year's finals: Gasol as the rock who doesn't get the ball enough, Odom not showing up, and Kobe buckling in the fourth under solid, physical defense. Is there any chance the Lakeshow falls into that mode again? Or are they just that much different from last year, and this game was an anomaly? I could see a glimmer of worry for Lakers fans (or maybe its just wishful thinking).
